CONSULTANCY | CREATING RISK ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION
Why a Risk Assassment & Evaluation?
In the Dutch Occupational Health and Safety Act (Arbo-wet), it is stipulated that every employer is required to conduct a Risk Assessment and Evaluation (RA&E) of their company. The RA&E is a tool that allows you, either independently or with the assistance of an external company like FireRed, to identify all safety and health risks within your company. Measures will be taken in the mandatory Action Plan to address the identified risks. As a result of the RA&E, so-called unavoidable risks, known as residual risks, will become visible. Residual risks cannot be eliminated through preventive measures. The potential consequences of these residual risks are covered by an Emergency Response Plan (ERO).
In addition, specific risks may occur within a company that require additional measures. For example: hazardous substances, machinery, internal transport, high-voltage power, or open flames in the workplace.
Based on the identified risks, an Action Plan is created. The Action Plan specifies the measures the employer will take regarding the identified risks and within what timeframe; this is a legal requirement. The timeframe for implementing a measure is based on the risk assessment by Fine & Kinney. Additionally, any past workplace accidents must be included.
